Within These Ancient Walls

This project is from my concept development class where our project brief was to create a conceptual collection. The project opened up the possibility of omitting the need for the garments to be wearable and instead focusing on pushing silhouette, blowing it out of the box. Coming from Belize, I’ve grown up surrounded by culture my whole life and wanted to draw inspiration from that. The one concern was that there was a vast pool of cultural groups I could focus on so, to concentrate my focus, I narrowed it down to the Mayan culture. Specifically looking at Mayan ruins, the ultimate design of these structures, and what can be found within these ancient walls.
